EYFS

Under the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) there are 7 areas of learning that shape the educational programmes for early years settings.

The 3 Prime areas are:

  1. Communication and Language
  2. Physical development
  3. Personal, Social and Emotional development

There are also a further 4 Specific areas through which the prime areas are strengthened and applied:

  1. Literacy
  2. Mathematics
  3. Understanding the world
  4. Expressive arts and design

We carefully plan our day so that children access these areas through a range of exciting and engaging topics and themes.

Blossom Nursery

The Shiremoor Two Year Old provision provide a stimulating and creative environment, in which children can explore and discover the world.

Snowdrops and Daisy Nursery

Children who come into our Nursery are provided with a rich, safe and enjoyable education. Our vision is for all children to reach their full potential through exciting topics which cover all areas of the curriculum.

Reception

Children who come into Reception join us in three stages over a three-week process. This is to ensure all children are given enough time to settle in with a smaller ratio of teacher to pupils.

All children in Reception are allocated a Key Worker who will be either a qualified Teaching Assistant or Teacher. As well as ensuring your child is happy and making good progress, they will be a source of guidance to your child if you have any queries or concerns.

The Dukeswood children are slightly delayed due to traffic so will be later than expected
